| This is our regular monthly meeting the second Tuesday of the month. We will be discussing upcoming activities including another Greet the Troops. We will start dinner (on your own) and social at 5:45 pm with our meeting beginning at 7:00 pm.

Biographical Information
In 2009, Wayne Christian returned for his sixth session in the Texas House of Representatives serving District 9 of East Texas, which includes Jasper, Nacogdoches, Sabine, Shelby and San Augustine counties. Speaker Straus appointed him to the House Business & Industry Committee and as Vice Chairman of Criminal Jurisprudence. During the 81st Legislative session, Wayne will continue to provide leadership as President of the Texas Conservative Coalition.
In July 2008, Wayne received recognition as “Legislator of the Year” by his peers at the 35th Annual Meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). This award goes to state legislators who are ALEC members in good standing and have distinguished themselves by advancing, introducing and/or enacting policies based on the conservative Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism and individual liberty.
Recognized as a consistent conservative voter and advocate during his five terms, Rep. Christian has been praised by many groups for demonstrating a strong commitment to responsible government spending, protection of free markets, and promotion of family and faith-favored legislation. In 2007, Texas Eagle Forum acknowledged him as one of the sixteen most conservative legislators and he was given a 100% conservative voting record by Capitol Insider. Texans for Fiscal Responsibility also named him a Taxpayer Hero, a distinction that only 15 of 181 legislators earned in 2007. Additionally, other groups such as the Heritage Alliance and the Texas Association of Business have identified his constant support of conservative values and Texas business owners. |
