State Senator Jane Nelson Leadership Award Presented at Denton Lincoln Reagan Dinner

The Denton County Republican Party held its annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner last Saturday at the D/FW Hyatt Regency Hotel. During the gala banquet a special new award was launched. The Senator Jane Nelson Leadership Award, created to honor a Denton County resident who has demonstrated leadership in promoting conservative principles on the local, state or national level was presented by Senator Nelson to longtime local party activist Lynn Yeargain of Hickory Creek.

In presenting the award, Senator Nelson stated, “I cannot think of a more fitting choice for this award.  Lynn works tirelessly on our behalf. She truly represents our conservative principles and is a strong grassroots leader. I am eternally grateful for her commitment to our party.”

Denton County Republican Party Chairman Lisa Hendrickson agreed, stating, “Lynn’s faithful service is well known around the county and the state. She is a force in our Party and well deserving of this honor. I look forward to working with her for many years to come.”

Over 950 people attended the gala banquet which was emceed by Senator Jane Nelson and featured keynote speaker former Senator Rick Santorum, celebrity guests Chuck Norris and his wife Gena Norris, and Diamond and Silk. Statewide officials Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller delighted attendees as well as local officials including, Congressman Dr. Michael Burgess, Texas House Caucus Chair Representative Tan Parker, and Representatives Ron Simmons, Pat Fallon and Lynn Stucky.
