Denton County Republican Assembly – David Smith – Transportation in Denton County (DCTA)

We urge you to attend our MAY 1st. event to get informed on a very important topic in Denton County.

In 2002 and 2003 the voters of Denton County created and funded the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA). To the surprise of county leaders, the voters of Denton County approved the creation of the authority but rejected the ½ cent sales tax funding mechanism except in the cities of Lewisville, Denton, and Highland Village. Fifteen years have now passed and it is now time for the citizens of Denton County to re-evaluate this authority. This presentation is an insightful analysis into how this agency has lost its way and has become an expensive bureaucratic operator of empty buses and trains.
