Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton and Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller to Attend Denton GOP’s Lincoln-Reagan Event

Three of the state’s top elected officials are confirmed to attend the Denton County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln-Reagan dinner on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the D/FW Hyatt Regency Hotel. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Attorney General Ken Paxton and Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller will also be present at both of the receptions prior to the dinner.

Dan Patrick was elected lieutenant governor of Texas in 2014, winning the general election by almost 20 points, including historic levels of support from women and Hispanic voters.

In his first term as lieutenant governor, Patrick successfully pushed to nearly triple funding for border security. He also successfully led the way to provide lasting property and business tax relief for homeowners and businesses across the state. Under his leadership, the Senate passed school accountability legislation so that every public school campus in the state will receive an A – F rating. The 84th legislative session was pronounced one of the most conservative, successful and productive in history.

By enforcing the U.S. and Texas Constitution and the laws of the State of Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton is fighting to preserve Texas’ world class economy and protect our freedoms and liberties.  In his first two years, General Paxton filed 22 lawsuits against the Obama federal government to protect Texans from federal overreach.  In a case with national implications, General Paxton led a 26-state coalition at the U.S. Supreme Court to defeat President Obama’s illegal immigration plan. The Washington Post reported at the time, “The action deals Obama perhaps the biggest legal loss of his presidency…..”.

In addition to protecting Texas sovereignty on environmental issues, Second Amendment rights, religious freedom and immigration, General Paxton also launched a new unit targeting human traffickers in Texas.

Sid Miller is an eighth generation farmer and rancher and the 12th Commissioner of Agriculture for the great state of Texas. Commissioner Miller has devoted his life to the agriculture industry, and supporting Texas producers and the communities they call home. He is a businessman, rancher, community leader, former ag teacher and former school board member.

Throughout his service to the state of Texas, Commissioner Miller’s real-world agricultural experience has helped shape his policy decisions and make a difference for Texans. As the leader of the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Commissioner Miller is focused on safeguarding private property rights and water resources, as well as protecting Texas consumers and agricultural producers. He is passionate about ensuring rural communities have access to the infrastructure they need to thrive.
