Denton County’s Annual Awards Presented

At our annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner held September 18th, the annual party awards were handed out!!

The Outstanding Volunteer of the Year is given annually to show appreciation to those who have so graciously given their time and energy to build the Republican Party of Denton County and promote the conservative Republican philosophy. Nominees can be submitted by anyone.

The selection committee consists of 16 past “Volunteer of the year” winners. A Committee Chairman, 2 former winners from each of the four commissioner precincts, 4 at large members, and 3 alternates.  Nominees promote the conservative Republican Philosophy and have been active in the Denton County Republican Party for at least the past five years, not a prior winner and not on this year’s ballot or spouse of a current candidate. This years’ Volunteer of the Year is Jim Johnson.

The Precinct Chair of the Year is given to a person who has been active in the Denton County Republican Party for at least the past five years. The Committee consists of 3 former “Precinct Chair of the Year” winners. Consisting of a Committee Chairman and 2 former “Precinct chair of the Year” winners. Anyone can nominate a Precinct Chair for this recognition, however, the nominee must have served a minimum of 2 years in their precinct as a Precinct Chairman. This year’s Precinct Chair of the Year is Jason Denton.

The Chairman’s Award has been given by the County Chairman over the years to someone who has helped in the growth of the Republican Party and helped the Chairman in the execution of duties and responsibilities. This year’s Chairman’s Award goes to Robert Ramirez.
