LEARN ABOUT TSRW’S SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS!
As our members decided, the finds from our fundraising are used for two purposes: (1) for Republican candidates who have a Democrat opponent and (2) for scholarships to Denton County young ladies including such events as the Leadership Institute seminar, Girls’ State sponsored by the American Legion, and others as appropriate.
Last summer, we were blessed to be able to send three young ladies to Girls State, and past Denton American Legion Post Commander Judge Forrest Beadle will bring some of these recipients to our September 10 meeting for us to meet. Judge Beadle is a proud Navy veteran and also presides over the very successful Denton County Veterans Court. He will share a bit with us about that court.
Please plan to come at 11:30 Wednesday, September 10 to the Southwest Denton County Courthouse, 6200 Canyon Falls Drive in Argyle. We socialize for a while, and the meeting starts at noon; we are generally adjourned by 1:00 and we serve a free light lunch. Hope to see you there!
We will also have a special remembrance of September 11, 2001, as we should never forget.
