Monday is the last day of the legislative session, and the Legislature still has lots of work to get done before then! The deadline to pass bills off the floor was Wednesday at midnight, and since then, both the House and Senate have been working together in Conference Committees to discuss the amendments made to the legislation by the opposite chamber. Property tax relief, additional funding for public education, school choice, and the future of Texas’s power grid are just some of the important issues that the Conference Committees have been meeting to dicuss. Once both the House and Senate agree on finalized legislation, those bills will be sent to Governor Abbott to be signed into law.
