Hello Friends,
It was a busy week in the district, but it was great seeing so many friendly, familiar faces in Denton, Weatherford, and Wichita Falls. Keep reading below to learn what I’ve been up to this week!

Cafe con Leche Road to College Graduation
Thursday evening, I was honored to give the keynote speech at the Cafe con Leche Wichita Falls Road to College graduation. The Road to College is a six-week program for 5th – 12th grade students, which provides vital information on the path to higher education, such as academic preparedness through advanced coursework. The goal is to enlighten students and their families about the importance of education post-high school.
I am so proud of each Road to College graduate and thankful for each mentor who has supported them throughout the program. These hard-working students chose to dedicate time out of their summer to invest in their future, and hearing their stories made me feel blessed that I serve on the Senate Education Committee and have the opportunity to develop policies that help shape our youth’s future.

Parker County Republican Women
It’s always great to be back in my hometown of Weatherford with the Parker County Republican Women! I enjoyed sharing what key pieces of legislation were passed and became law, and the Legislature’s $18 Billion property tax relief plan, which will save homeowners on average $1,300 per year and our seniors $1,450 per year. Thank you to the Parker County Republican Women for inviting me out for lunch on Thursday!

Jim Johnson for Judge of the 431st District Court Campaign Kickoff
On Tuesday evening I joined my fellow legislators, Senator Tan Parker, Representative Lynn Stucky, and Representative Richard Hayes, in supporting Jim Johnson for his campaign kick-off for Judge of the 431st District Court. We had a packed room full of folks there to show their support for Jim! I am thankful for all the important work that Jim has done for Denton County, and I look forward to seeing him continue to serve the community as Judge.

Help Support My Reelection Campaign
It truly is an honor to represent you in the Texas Senate, and I hope to continue doing so next session. Your support has been vital in helping me defend our conservative values at the Texas Capitol. Can you help ensure I have the resources necessary to run for reelection by contributing to my campaign? Your donation of $10, $50, or even $100 could make a tremendous difference.

On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone for wishing Lydia and me a happy wedding anniversary, we truly appreciated all of your kind wishes! This last weekend we celebrated our anniversary in Tyler, TX kayaking at Tyler State Park and over to Caddo Lake to paddle through the cypress trees. The views were absolutely breathtaking and a reminder that Texas has so many hidden gems to discover.
