Denton County Republicans Are Building Something Special

Denton County Republican Party Volunteer Education & Strategy Meeting was a tremendous success. We expected 10 to 20 attendees and welcomed more than 50. According to our Second Vice Chair, Janet Gadd, 32 of those attendees were new faces. Alongside our precinct chairs and longtime volunteers, that kind of turnout says a great deal about the momentum building within our party.
The meeting wasn’t just about attendance, it was about equipping volunteers to make a difference.
Janet Gadd, Second Vice Chair, focused on helping volunteers understand how they can support their precinct chairs and the neighborhoods they live in. She is following up by connecting volunteers with their precinct chairs and matching people with opportunities that fit the areas where they want to serve.
Third Vice Chair David Rettig led the strategy portion of the meeting, explaining how we can use data more effectively to target voter outreach through block walking, phone banking, text messaging, and neighborhood block captains. His presentation demonstrated how a data driven approach allows volunteers to make every conversation count.
First Vice Chair Nancy Dillard shared the importance of our fundraising efforts and explained how those resources directly support the work of the Denton County Republican Party. The meeting also resulted in five or six new prospects joining the 45-47 Club, strengthening the financial foundation needed to continue expanding our grassroots efforts.
Throughout the morning, Denton County Republican Party Chair Melinda Preston reinforced the importance of unity and working together as one team. The focus of the event was not on any one individual, but on strengthening the party by equipping volunteers, supporting precinct chairs, and building the grassroots organization needed to win. Every presentation reflected that mission, showing how each leader and every volunteer has a role to play in moving the Denton County Republican Party forward.
One thing that makes Denton County unique is our leadership structure. Rather than placing every responsibility on one person, our party has intentionally empowered three vice chairs, each serving as a subject matter expert in a critical area.
♦ First Vice Chair Nancy Dillard oversees party operations and fundraising while serving as the Chair’s principal deputy.
♦ Second Vice Chair Janet Gadd leads volunteer engagement, helping connect people with meaningful opportunities to serve alongside their precinct chairs.
♦ Third Vice Chair David Rettig oversees data and voter strategy, ensuring our outreach efforts are focused, effective, and measurable.
This structure allows each leader to focus on their area of expertise while working together toward a common mission. It reflects what makes the Denton County Republican Party successful, teamwork, organization, and a shared commitment to winning.
This is what unity looks like. Volunteers, precinct chairs, elected officials, and grassroots conservatives are all pulling in the same direction. Success isn’t measured only by attendance, it’s measured by how many new people become engaged, trained, and equipped to serve.
As President Ronald Reagan once said, “There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.” That spirit is alive in the Denton County Republican Party. This isn’t about any one person. It’s about building a stronger party, developing leaders, empowering volunteers, and preparing to win, not just in November, but for years to come.
We aren’t just holding meetings. We’re building an army of informed, equipped, and motivated Republicans, ready to serve their communities and help secure victory for conservative principles across Denton County.
