Meet Andy Eads

Top Priorities

As Denton County Judge, I have listened to our citizens and worked hard to improve people’s quality of life by investing in transportation improvements to reduce commute times, supporting our law enforcement, and attracting high-quality jobs to our growing county while maintaining a low county tax rate. With your continued support, I look forward to working together to make sure Denton County remains the best place to live, work, and play!

Maintain a Low Tax Rate

Denton County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States because of its high quality of life. Every day, around 82 people move into our county. With our population of 950,700-plus residents, we continue to look ahead to ensure county services are available to all of our residents while maintaining a low-tax rate.

In the 2023 fiscal year, I voted to drop the tax rate to the lowest rate since 1986.  I am proud Denton County has the lowest countywide tax rate of the top 15 counties in Texas and will continue to work to maintain a low tax rate while providing high-quality county services our residents so deserve.

Improved Mobility and Transportation

Improving transportation across the county has been a priority of mine since 2007 when I began serving on the Commissioners Court. Making roads safe is of utmost importance.  While in office, I have invested funds from the 2008 bond election to ensure nearly every state highway in the county has either been expanded, is currently under construction, or plans are in place to be improved. Mobility improvements truly are a family value for Denton County by allowing people to spend more time at home instead of sitting in traffic.

As a recognized transportation leader across the Metroplex and the past chair of the Regional Transportation Council, I have worked tirelessly to improve all modes of transportation across Denton County and throughout the entire DFW region.

Support our Law Enforcement

Supporting our law enforcement is vital to ensuring public safety, and Denton County is committed to support those who have committed themselves to our safety and quality of life. We have continued to support our law enforcement with the financial resources necessary to their job. Denton County Commissioners Court created a human trafficking unit to help protect those most vulnerable and also bring those criminals to justice.

Attract High-Quality Jobs

Attracting employers to Denton County has been a top priority, and I have a track record of success in working with employers to expand or relocate here to Denton County. I have worked to make Denton County a great place to work by meeting with companies and hearing their concerns, and clearing paths for their business expansions. Denton County is on a fast pace in job creation as well as residential home starts. The secret is out – Denton County is the place to be!
